Not Again

On Friday we had an appointment for pictures. The plan was to get a family picture done and then one with just Hailey and Braden. So, of course, Braden wouldn't go down for a nap and was grouchy but we hoped for the best. We got all ready and drove across the whole city only to find out that there had been a mix up and either I wrote down the wrong time on the calendar or they put our name in the wrong spot so we had missed our appt. Needless to say I was a bit choked but thankfully they decided to take us anyways. We got a family picture done and then Braden started to freak out so that was that at least we got a family picture.
We went back today to pick up the pictures. Vince went in to get them and brought them back. They were completely out of focus. Braden's face as well as mine were all fuzzy. After all that and the pictures didn't even work out. Nooooooooo!!! We went and talked to the girls and they agreed that the pictured were bad so tomorrow we have yet another appointment to try this out again.

Birthday time

On November 23rd Hailey turned 3 and Braden turned 1. I can't believe how fast time has gone by and it still seems a little crazy that they were born on the same day! It works well for now with having a party for both of them all in one shot but who knows how long that'll last for.
It makes me a little bit sad just thinking about how big they're getting and watching them become more and more independent but in other ways it's exciting seeing how they are developing and watching their personalities shine through. Man, I love those kids!!

Oh no... not the rim!

So in August we sold our Volkswagon Golf and got a new Mazda 5. Much to Vince's delight there were 17" rims on the Mazda. He had been wanting rims for the Golf the whole time we had it but they cost so much money...money that we didn't have.About two weeks ago he went through a drive through and got a tiny little scratch on one of the rims and he was so choked. All I could say was "I'm so happy that you were the first one to do something to those rims"! Well, wouldn't you know on Tuesday me and the kids met some friends downtown for a playdate and we parked in an underground parking lot. The roadway in and out of there was so narrow I honestly don't think that two cars could pass each other and one of them not get totally scraped up on one side. Anyways, on our way down to park, another car was coming and so I pulled over to the side as much as possible and scratched another one of Vince's rims up (half way around the edge) on a curb that all of a sudden appeared there. I did feel pretty bad but at least he had done it first! Mine was a lot worse but he had still done it first. We were right close to his office so he came and met us for some lunch and after we had finished eating he came down to the car with us to help me load up the kids and the stroller, he didn't notice it and I didn't say anything. I knew he had a pretty busy afternoon ahead and wasn't sure how he would react so I didn't say anything. I felt so guilty on the way home and so I called him at work and he didn't answer. I finally told him just before he came home and the first thing he asked was how bad it was I said it was pretty bad and he said "oh, that's ok Meg"...what?! He wasn't mad at all. I think he knew I felt really guilty but still... Right after we talked he hopped on the bus to come home and about 45 minutes later I looked out the window and Vince walks up in front of the house, puts his work bag in the snow, bends down and is looking to see the damage. He comes into the house a few minutes later and says "wow... you weren't kidding that IS really bad... I want you to know that when the day comes that I get MY OWN CAR I am ordering 18" wheels for it... no questions"
Sorry Vince!

Nap time or art class?

The other day we put Hailey down for a nap. She is usually so good with napping and bed, you put her down she goes to sleep and wakes up a couple hours later happy as can be. So we put her down, she was quiet and we continued visiting with some friends that were over. About three hours had passed and we still hadn't heard a peep coming from upstairs so we figured we had better check on her. Vince went up stairs came back down and says that I better go look at what she had done. We hadn't heard anything, how bad could it be? So the two of us go upstairs and she's snoozing away in bed but her entire bedroom, I mean walls, the door, dresser and nightable are covered in marker. I was shocked but also thought it was pretty funny being that I knew it was a washable marker. She didn't have markers in her room but I remembered that Braden had been holding one earlier and must have left it behind while playing in her room. At this point she had woken up and was pretty proud of her artwork although she was still looking pretty tired. She was showing us the faces and balloons and everything else she had drawn. She had also gotten some wipes from Braden's room, probably to wash off any marker she on her hands since she hates having dirty hands. But, she had taken every single wipe out of the container and layed them unfolded and perfeclty straight one on top of the other. Once she had woken up more we explained that this wasn't very good and she helped clean the walls, door, dresser and nightable off. Thank goodness for washable markers!!
